The Private Security Industry Act 2001 requires the SIA to establish :-

"a system of inspection for providers of security services, under which those organisations who satisfactorily meet the agreed standards may be registered as approved, and may advertise themselves as such".

The objective of the SIA's Approved Contractor scheme is to raise performance standards and to assist the private security industry in developing new opportunities. Business Watch Guarding Ltd attained this coverted award in June 2007. Our Initial Inspection using the Standard Method accreditation consisted of a 3 day Inspection from independent assessors NSI Insight. It concluded that we met and in many disciplines exceeded the defined standards of operation within the nine principal categories these being:

The ACS Standard covers all aspects of our business operations and takes an overall view of how well an organisation is managed, how effectively it services its customers, and how well it treats its employees. The ACS scheme is based upon widely recognised business improvement models ISO9001:2000 and the European Foundation for Quality Management.
An extract from the in depth findings of the report states “ In the view of Insight Certification Ltd and based on our assessment on 15th and 16th May 2007 Business Watch Guarding Ltd has achieved the standards required for the SIA Approved Contractor Scheme for Security Guarding and Keyholding” It further states in Good Practice that:-

 “The company displays good professional relationships with customers, strong promotion of the business and understanding of the local security market, good use of modern technology in tracking vehicles, well maintained personnel files and a well focused approach to business”
