In 1993 the Crime Reduction Department of the West Mercia Constabulary formulated the concept of a Business Watch scheme in Telford Shropshire, based on a successful scheme in Merseyside www.knowsleybusinesswatch.co.uk  From humble beginnings the Business Watch schemes developed  resulting in the founding of Business Watch Guarding Ltd to service these popular Community Partnership schemes.

BUSINESSWATCH currently serves over 500 Businesses in the Shropshire area and crime has dropped an unprecedented 84% since being introduced. By combining collective resources, BUSINESSWATCH Scheme members have created wider corporate benefits for themselves.

Basic Package :-

1. Contract
   A 12 month contract between Business Watch Guarding Ltd (an SIA  Approved Contractor Scheme Company) Membership Invoices are payable monthly by direct debit, or by invoice in advance.
2. Manpower
   Uniformed Patrol Guards are SIA Licensed & Vetted and Skills for security trained to required NOCN BJT Level 2 and Conflict Management standards. They provide a high profile uniformed mobile and foot patrol presence to members to facilitate fast alarm and incident response.  Also included are random visits from mobile supervisory officers.
3. Vehicle
   High profile patrol Security Vehicles displaying both the guarding companies and Shrop Watch Logos and equipped with telephone, site visit recording equipment plus first aid and safety equipment.
4. Data Strips
   Affixed to your premises at locations of your choice or as advised by Business Watch Guarding Ltd. Each visit is then recorded and in the event of an incident information can be recalled at any time.
5. Cover
   Subject to exigencies of duty BWG Ltd aims to provide a minimum of 3 visits per night to your business, plus passing attention between 7pm - 7am weekdays and 24 hours at weekends and Bank Holidays when up to 6 visits per 24 hours are provided to include daytime visits mobile and foot patrol on site. Response to alarm activations provided, monitoring alarm companies advise on site guards of activations are also provided. Speech dialer systems can be affixed to member premises in order that activations are passed directly to patrols. 
6. Incident Attendance Service
   Immediate response to fire and burglar alarms, CCTV monitored systems and suspicious incidents on the estate, and record details of suspicious persons and vehicles.
7. Benefits
   Membership entitles business and organizations to additional services e.g. insurance initiatives, crime prevention advice re. external/internal security matters, estate management coordination. Members can also benefit from preferential discounts for security equipment alarm and cctv systems, security hardware and staff training for lone workers on Conflict Management (full details available on request.) from our approved contractors.
8. Crime Liaison
   A unique partnership scheme whereby Business Watch Guarding Ltds patrolling guards are briefed on current crime trends, incidents and suspicious persons, vehicles etc. with information supplied by West Mercia Police. Member companies can also subscribe free of charge to this information and are emailed of incidents and potential threats similar to the escalation policy adopted by Neighborhood Watch Schemes. In addition patrols are designated using the latest Incident Reporting Software PPM2000 Irims which identifies hot spot areas determining where resources should be deployed.
9. Cost
   Contracting security companies on an individual basis can cost in excess of £200 per week for fewer visits than this scheme offers.  This scheme, we believe, cannot be made more cost effective.  For the services offered it brings the concept of a security presence into reality for many small businesses, as well as greatly reducing security costs for larger companies.  It is also a proven fact that membership to this type of scheme can in many cases greatly reduce insurance premiums. So why pay more for less, when you can pay less for more!
