Communications & Conflict Management – MAYBO/SITO Approved ~ 1 & 2 day courses. (This course is also available to Non-Security Industry personnel).
Introduction
All employers are responsible for the safety of their employees whilst at work. This includes taking actions to prevent violence, threatening behaviour from customers, clients and fellow workers, and supporting you if this happens. Violence and abuse at work may be unpredictable, but it is not unpreventable.
The more contact employees have with the public, the greater the risk you face. The British Crime Survey (BCS) found that the highest risk occupations are:
- Security guards and the Police services
- Nurses
- Care workers
- Public transport workers
- Catering and hotel workers
- Benefits staff
- Teachers
- Shop workers
- Line Managers/Supervisors and Personnel Officers
